Doesnt work

Doesnt work , when it need to take a picture ... Keep your Money ....

Good App, works as advertised

I tested it on a few items and when I was careful with the set up and calibration I could get accuracy within about a quarter inch on the 7 or 8 objects I measured. It is hampered by the iphone cameras inherent limitations and I did find that the measuring stick was a little dificult to position once the picture was taken. Still needs a few tweaks and a tad pricy for version 1. Its easier to grab a measuring tape but this works if you happen to be without one.

RulerPhone=inaccuracy

This app is really not accurate if I use a credit card to measure. I dont know if there is any way to make the blue card smaller because when these two cards are aligned, the measurement is really out of range. I tried so many times and not a single time is accurate. I wont refer this app to anybody unless I can adjust the blue card size. I really regret that I trusted those testimonials.

Works!!

Works like a charm.. Super easy to use!!! Not buggy, nor does it lag... Took a pick of something that is 1.11"..... And it gave me 1.11".01!! Very accurate (only recomendation is for the ruler not to reset after one zooms in) but its a great app recomend.... Btw 1st!! :0)

Great idea!

I have been actually looking for something like this for a long time! Every time I measure something using this app its about 3 inches more than its supposed to be, which is pretty good for measuring on the go when I dont have a ruler handy. One time though I measured something that I knew was 5 feet 6 inches, and it came out to be 5 feet 6 inches on the app. So, I am pretty satisfied with this app.

Urule

I need more things to measure now!

Fabulous

Wow! I was surprised how well this worked. Its extremely accurate. Will get me within 1" every time. It takes a bit of practice, but is well worth 3 bucks. I would buy this for 10

it does NOT have metric values

The ruler may be correct but it is very bothersome to start yet another app to translate from feet and inches just to get the right values. I bought this today and if an update comes with metric values I will give it full score but now it is useless for me ;-( But still I like the idea so I give it a 2 and if it comes with metric Ill give it a 4 or 5 star

Whoa

I measured my new bar with this and it was only off by 2 centimeters. This app works great Im really pleased. Cheers!!!

Its ok

I got this thinking that this is really cool, and it does work.. The zoom is hard to get used to along with the measuring tool.. But once you do get the hang of it, it does the job!!

Where is the accuracy?

I followed all the "Tips" and I have yet to get an "accurate" measurement. Every measurement is off by 5 to 7%. Is that considered accurate? I was really hoping to use this for scaling photos of larger objects. If Im doing something wrong I hope someone can help. I gave this a 2-star for the idea and the use of measuring small objects. To me it needs real improvement. Id ask for my money back but that is not an option at the AppStore.

Nice

Once that u get the practice, youll see how handy it is

This Is Perfect

When I am on the job site and forget my tape measure I know I have an accurate backup now. Off by only 1/8" when measuring a wall I was quite pleased. What could be added? Rotating the blue card icon could use an auto lock feature that snaps to every 90 degrees so I know I am getting a perfect horizontal or vertical alignment. Once you finish zooming in and lining up with the card the image tends to drift a little if you dont raise your finger perfectly straight up but this is hardly an annoyance. Well done.

I love this!

This is one of the best apps to show the convienence and awesomeness of the iPhone. Easy, intuitive and fun. It makes me want to measure everything everywhere.

Works best for small objects

Truely a useful idea! Concerning precision its simple as that: The larger the credit card in the photo, the easier it is to allign it precisely, the better the measurment. Ben Kamens could easily impove the usefulness of this app also for larger objects by giving the option to align to a sheet of copier paper (US legal as well as A4 please). Alternatively allow manual entry of known lengths (e.g. height of a person in a photo).

Amazing!

This app I downloaded for free (lite version) I felt like I was a cheap bum for useing the free version for measuring stuff. This app is genious and deserves a good review. I do have some suggestions - Instead of the CC or Metro Card to make relative distance; allow people to measure based on height? everyone knows how tall they are and if they want to measure say for example; a tree they could have someone thats 5,8 stand next to the tree and pick that for a setting - Personable height, plus if other objects were included for relative mesuring purposes i think it would make the app much better. The apps really good guys THANKS!

Not accurate at all

This app is not accurate 100% more like 97% accurate. if you want to approximately measure buy it. For more accurate results buy a key ring measuring tape.

Even better than expected

Works perfectly. I think this app is brilliant. It took a second to get the hang of it, but now the whole process-- taking the picture to measuring the dimensions-- takes less than 20 seconds.

If youve got the time, you can measure it!

Heres how it works: You set up a credit card, walk back a few feet, snap the picture, futz with the scaling, move the "calipers" on screen, accidentally bump them, start over... aaaaaand there we go -- a slightly inaccurate measurement! The amazing thing is that its only SLIGHTLY inaccurate. Great technology demo and a clever trick, but only useful in very specific circumstances. After all, how often can you afford an unknown level of innacuracy?

Excellent

I downloaded the light version before but decided to pay after the latest upgrade. The measurements are accurate and this app is solid.
